That time spent at the office between Christmas and New Year’s needn’t be entirely lofty. It can actually become something of a career boost if you’re one of the few around to answer the phone or take on a last-minute project because higher-ups are all at Steamboat. Clients don’t stop getting into trouble around the holidays, and some need their lawyers and those lawyers’ support staffs more than ever.

The Productive Hush
I never mind working during the Christmas lull. In fact, that week between December 25th and the New Year is often renewing. I catch up--at last! Thanks to most coworkers’ absence, I finally have time to sit and think and reflect about how the 12 months previous had turned out for me. What should I have done better? How might I have reached a different result? Are my accomplishments anywhere near what I intended them to be? Having some time to pause energizes my commitment to the upcoming year and clarifies my own performance expectations. Goals are more clearly delineated, hopefully in doable nuggets.
